A very good Emacs-like editor, with error- and syntax highlighting and most of the Emacs goodies, is JED. I recall that the author posted to this list some time back, I can say it's pretty cool. It's also pretty small, and the DOS 386 distribution was built with DJGPP. It's nothing like the size of Emacs (300K tops) but has most of the stuff; I'm not an Emacs person so I don't know what I'm missing, but JED is the editor I'm using right now under DOS, Solaris, and Linux. ------------------------------- Orlando A.
