Hi Kostas, thanks for pointing out those URL's which I will take a look at. Yet, since V2.x compliant lib-s are mandatory for linking/running an exec under V2.x one would have to use a V2.x compiled libf2c.a - as you seem to do. However, considering that f2c.exe compiles smoothly under V2.x but does *not* work properly, how can you be sure that there is not some module of of a V2.x compiled libf2c.a which - happily ever after - produces @$#!% instead of, say, the proper imaginary part of the natural log(x+iy). Since having to think about potential problems with a lib-file I actually never wanted to think about is *really* the bottom-line for me I find your approach somewhat brave - in particular if you have to rely on those numbers that your machine is offering you ?!
