Could someone send me an example of how to use templates in defining > classes (objects). The better solution is to 1. reduce the program to the smallest reproducible portion that will produce the error and 2. show us the full command line you're using to reproduce this problem. There are a few peculiarities on various systems in attempting to instantiate template classes under some circumstances, but these show up at link time, not compile time. (You can use `info' for DJGPP to get information on how to do this.) One difficulty is that the draft standard for C++ is 1. not a full standard yet, obviously, and 2. compilers haven't quite had a chance to catch up yet. This means that something which may work on one compiler may not work on another, due to either lax syntax checking on a compiler's part or allowing you to get away with more than you should on the other's. -- Erik Max Francis, &tSftDotIotE. && max AT alcyone DOT darkside DOT com || max AT alcyone DOT com San Jose, California, U.S.A. && 37 20 07 N 121 53 38 W && the 4th R is respect H.3`S,3,P,3$S,#$Q,C`Q,3,P,3$S,#$Q,3`Q,3,P,C$Q,#(Q.#`-"C`- && 1love && folasade Omnia quia sunt, lumina sunt. && GIGO Omega Psi && http://www.alcyone.com/max/ "Out from his breast/his soul went to seek/the doom of the just." -- _Beowulf_
