Does it do this by default? I have tried: CWSDPMI /* alone */ CWSDPMI -p /* install permanently */ CWSDPMI -sc:\cwsdpmi.swp /* redundant -- I think */ BTW: I have read the FAQ and the CWSDPMI.DOC file and have been unable to decipher the truth. My assumption is that CWSDPMI *does* do virtual memory by default and that I'm just out of luck. I am trying to configure CWSDPMI in order to fool QUAKE into thinking my computer is not as obsolete as it really is. I have a i486DX2-50MHz computer with only 4MB RAM... but I was curious as to whether or not (with virtual memory from CWSDPMI) I could get QUAKE to just "run" (I'd be happy with "walk" or "crawl" .. just something more than "page fault"). *DISCLAIMER* YES -- I *KNOW* I'm suppose to have a Pentium++ with 8MB++ RAM -- I'm just "messing around" and wanting to learn more about the CWSDPMI settings. this question only resulted from my trying to run Quake... I'm mainly interested in a more verbose explanation of the CWSDPMI command line arguments, and some insight on how it uses virtual memory. (For instance, is the swap file dynamically created and destroyed -- I never saw the swap file after running...) Thanks for any help! -bob PS: responses with substance via e-mail will be summarized to newsgroup
