That sounds like an old CL problem. They dont have a standard VGA font in
their BIOS.

Carefully look to your driver disks and get the TSRFONT.COM.
Run it before running any DJGPP program in graphic mode (put it to your
AUTOEXEC.BAT if you prefer).

If you don't have driver disks, or they don't contain TSRFONT.COM, try
anonymous FTP to
ftp.cirrus.com
/pub/support/desktop/543x
and get the file k543x-d1.zip. You will find TSRFONT.COM in this archive.
