Although having 16MB RAM and having thrown lots of CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT stuff away, I cannot compile some C++ code using a makefile or having -O3 and some warning switches on (I get internal errors). But I can overcome this, by using either warning or other switches. I must also say, that my C++ code is using lots of inlined templating (it's only one object file from over 10000 lines of code) for speed purposes. It would be nice, if someone could enlighten us about the reasons why this is happening, though having so much RAM free. My guess is that it has to do with the 640k barrier, but it's only a guess. BTW all my programs compile fine on DECs, even when they have _less_ RAM per process than my pc (15MB per process). All in all, DJGPP is a great product. I would have never thought, that gcc could be ported at all to DOS. How about a DJDOS? === Axel Thimm Freie Universitaet Berlin ===
