A number like 600kb also gave me the same reading. All in all, I think setting that parameter to the smallest value that causes 584KB to be reported is the best. Once CWSDPMI decides to use conventional memory, it will use it all (except for some 60K is puts aside for its own page tables and possible DOS memory allocations for the program that runs).
