Unless you are doing something strange, CS base = DS base = ES base, etc
in DJGPP, so if you write to the same offset using DS as you normally
might with CS, it should work.  DJGPP uses the "tiny" model with 32-bit
offsets.

Selector modification isn't allowed by GO32, only by DPMI.  So get the
DPMI specification and run under DPMI if this is needed.
