Hmm, Scanning through the last couple of weeks of DJGPP messages I conclude that Infernal compiler errors are quite common for DJGPP Beta 4 - GCC 2.7.1. I have been trying to isolate the cause and have found it to be a moving target. Examples of what I mean... I have been working with a largish suite of programs that compiled just fine under GCC 2.6.3 & DJGPP V1m4... 1) Switching off the -Wall and sundry other warnings allowed me to compile some of my problem files successfully, but didn't get past all the Infernal errors. 2) Commenting out some code seems to shift the Infernal error to lower down in the code. Hypothesis :- This is a size problem. Somehow GCC 2.7.1 can't stomach all the levels of templates I'm throwing at it or it is running out of memory or something. Any suggestions anyone. Anybody managed to corner this bug yet? PS : GCC 2.7.1 is much better at picking up bugs in my programmming, so I wouldn't like to be forced backwards. The DJGPP V2 distribution is much more polished and easy to use. Good stuff Guys. Thanks. John Carter Institute for Water Quality Studies. Department of Water Affairs.
