I have decided to teach myself C/C++ and have chosen DJGPP as the compiler I will use. I downloaded V2 beta and most of the files related to it but cant realy make heads or tails of what I should do. I have no experience with C and little to none with Unix (Im not even sure what a Makefile is) and would appreciate any help I receive. Is there a step-by-step document for the newbies of the newbies that perhaps I could use to help me get started programming right away? I have lots of books about C and loads of text files but they really dont help much in this case. Here is what I have done... I download several files I thought I may need including: djdev200b - Development and runtime kit (???) gcc263b - Gnu Gcc 2.6.3 for v2 gdb412b - Gnu Debugger for v2 lgp262b - Gnu libg++ 2.6.2 for djgpp mak373b - Gnu make for v2 bnu252b - Gnu Binary Utilities djlsr200 - Source library (do I need this?) djtst200 - Test programs for v2 texi360b - Texinfo program (cant get it to work though) Is there anything else I need? Where should I begin? Im lost please help. Thanks for your time... -- | Just because Im smart don't think I can't act stupid. -C.
