The system has been running with out a hitch for the last couple of months. Last night when I added more source code ( I am compiling about 20 C-files into an executable ) I got the following error message : DPMI: Not enough memory ( 0x002d0000 bytes ) robot.c : In function 'determine_beacon_': robot.c : virtual memory exhausted Section 15.3 of the FAQ states : .... include swapfile = parameter to establish a virtual memory swap file; ..... make it permanent with the /p option. ( What are the parameters that should go there ? Where do I get an example of this from ). Section 3 of the FAQ states : If you have more than 8MB of RAM * * * install RAM disk with size 1.5MB and point your TMPDIR environment to it. ( How does one create a RAM disk ? ) I would appreciate any pointers to solutions to my question. \\__/(\ Thank you, Q Q \) Rajiv =(_T_)= -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rajiv Ellepola, Robotics & Vision Research Group, _--_|\ Internet: rajiv AT cs DOT uwa DOT edu DOT au Department of Computer Science, / \ Tel (work): +61 9 380 3778 The University of Western Australia,*_.--._/ Fax (work): +61 9 380 1089 Western Australia 6907. v -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Humble experiments in early vertebrates eventually resulted in human beings. - Hans Moravec All the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action. - James Russell Lowell
