I got the source code for version 2.6.2 and compiled it under linux fine. I tried to compile it for djgpp V2 but there was no makefile suitable. Apparently it uses some assembler code for the DOS port which I assume is standard 8086 assembler, NOT AT&T. I'm a bit lost when it comes to modifying makefiles for programs this large. Q: Is there a precompiled version for djgpp V2, or at least the source and/or set of makefiles/asm files suitable so I can compile it with the minimal of fuss. Brendan Simon brendan AT rdt DOT monash DOT edu DOT au I tried the gs386 which was on a SimTel mirror. It works fine from the command line but crashes when I use the system() call from a djgpp program. I assume this is because the dos4gw extender conflicts with the cwsdpmi server. I could probably use the gs286 version (640K - ugly) but would prefer to use a native djgpp port. Any ideas anybody ???? Thanks, Brendan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PS. the source for GS comes with makefiles for Turbo C, Turbo C++ and Borland C++, Microsoft C, WATCOM C++, and of course Unix (and look alikes). Would anyone with suitable makefiles for GS compiled for djgpp like to contact the GS developers and get them to support djgpp. I think they would/should prefer the djgpp enviroment because it is the only non-commercial compiler, which sort of fits in with the GNU policies. Lets support/promote djgpp as much as possible. Thanks DJ and team. Brendan
