How about with a built >in text editor so that you could edit, compile, link, >and run without (directly) opening a DOS box? > You might want to try Programmer's File Editor (PFE). It can do multiple files, UNIX files (i.e., files w/o the [ab]normal DOS CR/LF pair), and lets your compile straight from within it. It even captures the output from you compile (or any other DOS program), so you can view your compile errors while editing your files. I wish that it had VI key bindings (I know, I know, but I'm used to VI), but it works pretty well. Best of all, it's free. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- David G.
