Why do you say ``dpmi'' in your subject?  Do you run under DPMI?  If you 
do, your graphics should not work at all (it is DJGPP v1.12, is it?).
Anyway, I work with Smartdrv all the time and never saw any problem.  I 
cannot say the same about Norton Cache, though.
