Though I cannot quite parse that last sentence, just FYI: I'm using VC++ for all my Win32 development *and* I'm using make (or MSs interpretation of a make utility called nmake, pfui deibel/foo devil: ). I'm not using VC++ interactively but using it from within makefiles. And I would a lot rather have something gnuish.
