For those who have already seen it, please accecpt my apologies. I am writing a paper describing the use of djgpp for DOS-based vision applications. From previous postings to the list and news group, it is obvious that there are a number of machine vision and image processing programmers/systems integrators that use djgpp for their applications. for those users willing to share their experiences both good and bad, please send me email. Even brief replies are greatly appreciated! Some possible questions that respondents might wish to answer include: 1. What were the reasons for choosing djgpp? 2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of djgpp? 3. What kinds of problems were encountered with software libraries for various types of acquisition and processing hardware? 4. What kind of comparisons can be made to other compilers, especially 32 bit compilers like Watcom's C compiler? 5. How do the software tools for djgpp compare to other compilers? 6. How fast is code produced by djgpp compared to other compilers? 7. How does technical support compare to other compilers? This should be easy! :-) (Thanks DJ and many others.) I will cite all respondents in the paper unless they indicate that they wish to remain anonymous. If anyone wants a preprint of the paper, please let me know. Thanks in advance John Miller jwvm AT umich DOT edu
