It gives you both the summary of the differences between the Intel and AT&T asm syntaxes, and pointers to GNU docs which elaborate on this. The usual problem with newcomers to DJGPP is the large body of prior knowledge that is required, especially about GNU tools. It is advisable to look into the FAQ list which has the issue of explaining some of this as one of its goals.
