I also have 2 megs of RAM.. My compiles are slower than what i would
like them to be but heck.. i dont expect too much wiht only 2 megs of RAM.
	What i have done to get a modest compile time is to make a DJGPP
boot disk. Since i dont have alot of stuff to do when programming, i dont
need other things in memory. Just make a clean boot disk with the ness.
autoexec.bat and config.sys on it.. and you should have better luck
with finding out what exactly your problem is..
