The solution to this is: sometime ago, someone posted some code that when compiled, actually does this; if permission could be obtained from the author, it could be compiled as a stand alone executable and included in the archive that has the various utilities that go along with gcc. As a stand alone exexutable, it would be a very small but useful utility that can be added to DJGPP 2.0 or even any unforseen future 1.12 maintenance releases. The payoff of this would be preventing this type of question from being a FAQ -CmC
