This is just the standard behaviour. MAKE is supposed to behave that
way. The rules of a makefile consist of

TARGET ...: DEPENDENCIES ...
<TAB> COMMAND
<TAB> ...

Make sure that your editor does not expand <tab>s to <space>s!
