Any known problems or caveats? DJGPP 1.12 is "compatible" with DV/X (i.e. I was able to use a GNU compiler to produce a 10Mb X client and run it under DV/X with djgpp 1.12.) The program (run under a DX2 66, 20M RAM) crashes quite frequently under heavy demands (mode switchings: It installs a 1ms interrupt, and every 1/18.2 secs, call the old realmode DOS ISR; go32 does a lot of paging (again, switch to realmode;) and mouse/keyboard events.) The program is the only one run under the XServer, and access memory using VCPI calls. Other programs (smaller in size and demands) run fine. > 2) Will DJGPP V2.0 be compatible with DV/X? If you can write a program that runs happily under DPMI (a must under djgpp v2.0,) you should have no problem to run it under DV/X. +--------------------------------------------------------+ | Long Doan ldoan1 AT osf1 DOT gmu DOT edu | | ld AT netrix DOT com | +--------------------------------------------------------+
