Subject: Problems with 112m2 From: WU DAVID S To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Date: Wed, 30 Nov 1994 11:23:23 -0500 I decided to try out version 112 of DJGPP I figured that it might help increase my productivity, so I downloaded all of the necessary files on simtel, and unziped them over my previous installation of 111m5. I ran dj112m1.bat then, uziped dj112m2, then ran it's batch file. However. When I tried to complile my program, it started out for about 3 seconds and then it froze up, and I was forced to turn my coomputer off. I tried "Hello David" ( port of "Hello World" to David Wu environment.) and it took a long time to compile, but it did work out. Other, slightly more complex programs froze up on me. I'm using a 486 33 with 8 megs ram and about 100 megs free HD space. I jjust have himmem.sys installed and go32 says that it has 6808k free. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Are there special things that I must change? If no one can figure out whats what, what should my plan of action be?` a) find old version of 111m5 (where are these?) b) stick with "Hello David" c) give up C altogether. -- |\___ |O.o/ David Wu =(___)= Don't Drink U and Derive Disclaimer: This message may not be politically correct.
