From: mrb AT robots DOT ox DOT ac DOT uk Subject: [Q] Graphics on a Stealth 64 To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu (djgpp) Date: Tue, 22 Nov 94 15:23:32 GMT I have tried using the stealth.grn driver for my Stealth 64 card, and only get partial success. The text modes are all fine, as well as the graphics modes up to (and including) 640*480*256. The 800*600*256 mode works, but noticably flickers (albeit pretty fast), whereas the 800*600 resolution for Windows 3.1 gives a nice steady image. The 1024*768*256 mode just plain doesn't work. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a different driver available? GRX v1.03 (which I have) apparently has a built-in graphics driver for VESA compatible cards. When I try using graphics routines without having specified a card (therefore assuming the default will be used), nothing happens. The documentaion is not very good, but since the Diamond Stealth is VESA compatible, I can't see why it doesn't work.. is there an environment variable somewhere I've missed? (By the way my GO32 _is_ sufficiently recent (1.12m2 I think?)). Finally, the bumpf for GRX v1.03 says that v1.04 is imminent. How imminent? And will the page switching stuff be sufficiently different to warrant me putting off writing such code until 1.04 is ready? Thanks! Mike B. mrb AT robots DOT ox DOT ac DOT uk
