I've noticed that when I boot to DOS, start Windows, quit Windows, then run my program it runs faster than when I don't run Windows first. When I say it runs faster, I'm measuring speed by the frequency of screen updates. I can get about 1.5 to 2 times as many screen updates per second if I run Windows first. Can anyone explain this?
