Date: Thu, 27 Oct 94 20:39:15 JST From: Stephen Turnbull To: djgpp-announce AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Subject: WWW / anonymous FTP server for DJGPP archives and old versions There has recently been some traffic about problems with G++ 2.6.0. I have personally also had a problem with the most recent ld. Therefore I have created a server and put the previous version of DJGPP on it (v 1.11, GCC 2.5.7, maintenance releases up to maint5). If anyone has a copy of GCC and GPP 2.5.8 to contribute, or a pointer to where I can get them, I'll upgrade to 2.5.8. USE THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Mixing programs from different versions of the compiler suite can cause problems. Be careful not to overwrite current versions. I have also placed copies of the DJGPP mailing list correspondence in gzip'ed form on the server. I've split them out by months, going back to about Dec. '93, and there are two larger batches going back to July '93. The most recent one is not going to be up-to-date, but you probably don't need that anyway. Eventually I'll figure out how to arrange for indexed searches or something, but for the moment at least you don't have to FTP that whole monstrous file from Clarkson. (Don't hold your breath waiting for an HTML version :-) Anonymous ftp: turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp, /pub/djgpp. login "anonymous" or "ftp", password your email address, as usual. WWW URL: "http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/index.html" DISCLAIMER: I'll run this server as much as possible, but I make no promises as to the consistency of the service, nor to the quality of the software.
