Now for the $64k question: which tar do I use to unpack emacs-19.25.tar.gz? I have 40 meg left on my drive so unzipping and untarring isn't an option. I tried pdtar2.0 which understands gnu-zipped tar files, but the file name gargling left make unable to find config.h-in in the src directory. The INSTALL directions assumes that you have correctly unpacked the archive, and therefore doesn't bother to remind you of what you did to get it to that state. Any and all assistance appreciated! -- Ronald Cole E-mail: ronald AT netcom DOT com OPTX International zippy AT ecst DOT csuchico DOT edu "The Bill Of Rights -- Void Where Prohibited By Law"
