Subject: make on v1.11

I've just installed version 1.11 and my makefiles no longer work now.
I tried both ndmake45 and the gnu make369 and my makefile is patterned
after the grtask makefile (including tabs in the right places, etc)
When I use make my windows dos box just hangs there indefinitely, but
if I type in the same compile command w/o using make it compiles
immediately.  I saw this problem on the list before but don't
recall what the solution was.  Could anyone suggest some possible solutions?
