From: burger AT Mailer DOT Uni-Marburg DOT DE (Christian Burger) Subject: go32 and tbscanx xmsseg option To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Date: Sat, 30 Oct 1993 15:44:32 +22311043 (CET) Organization: University of Marburg, Germany The documentation (addendum.doc) of TbScanX, a resident anti virus checker which is part of the ThunderByte AV utilities, mentions the following option: - Added a new undocumented option 'xmsseg=' (xs). You can use this option to specify on which address the temporary XMS swap buffer should be located while files are being copied. The default address is 6000h. If you experience troubles using the XMS option, try if this option can solve it. Recommended values are from 2000h to 8800h (default is 6000h). Let us know if this helps and which value you use. Is this of any concern for go32.exe? If so, to which value should it be set? Is the correct choice dependent on the memory manager? If so, what to do for plain himem.sys (8MB physical RAM)?
