From: Andy Duplain Subject: out of vmem when compiling To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1993 09:25:50 +0100 (WET DST) Hi, I have just installed djgpp 1.10 and have had trouble getting large C programs to compile (e.g samples/compress), especially with optimisation. The error I get is "virtual memory exhausted", yet my 486/33 has 8MB of RAM and 17MB of free disk space. I am using 386MAX 6.02, which has 5MB+ of XMS memory free (but no extended memory free); I am confused about the whole DPMI and VCPI issue... 386MAX is able to provide both (I think); but how do I configure it for djgpp ? Can anyone please help ? BTW I must congratulate DJ for his work on djgpp... commercial equilavents start at 450 pounds! -- Andy Duplain, BT Customer Systems, Brighton, UK. duplain AT rtf DOT bt DOT co DOT uk Tel: +44 (0)273 206777 Fax: +44 (0)273 326475.
