What was this bug? That _fmode is not cared about? Or something different
I missed?

I'm still puulling my hairs about a different behaviour of flsbuf()
under DOS vs. NOVELL. It turns out that the fstat() in flsbuf
returns a -1 in the case NOVELL is present. That's why I'm presently
very sensibilized on this kind of low level file i/o stuff.

I cannot yet reproduce the behaviour in a small example, but as soon
as I have I'll post it.

P.S. If anyone else had these kind of problems under Novell or any ideas
