The LIBGRX v1.03 will have the Mode X routines. Nearly all VGA drivers were updated to make this feature available. Since the Mode X isn't a standard BIOS mode, the driver has to program the VGA card on his own. The new 256 color modes (320x240x256, 320x400x256 and 360x480x256) should be usable with *every* VGA-card and *every* VGA monitor. If there are *ANY* problems, please tell me about it ! In addition to the Mode X support, there are two new 16 color modes. The 720x350x16 allows a pretty Hercules emulation on *every* VGA card, the 720x480x16 improves the standard resolution. Again, please tell me about any problems. The current go32 (1.10a) doesn't support graphics under DPMI control. It may be possible to use graphics with the LIBGRX v1.03. The available resolution will be limited by the 64k visible VGA ram. Using ModeX style memory access one may have up to 640x400 in 256 color mode. By now, only ET4000 chipsets worked well in HighRes ModeX (320x200,640x350,640x400,640x480,...). Please try the STDVGAX driver in 320x200x256 mode on your VGA card and send me a short notice about your result. Please check out the updated drivers and tell me about your result. If you've got a driver missing in this beta test, please send me the original (or the changed) source. Many thanks for your help, Hartmut
