Date: Tue, 1 Jun 93 15:18:28 EDT From: DJ Delorie To: djgpp-announce AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Subject: djgpp 1.10 is available DJGPP 1.10 is now available! Many thanks to the many individuals who actually did most of the work on go32 1.10! New Features: DPMI! Yep, this means gcc now also runs in Windows 3.x, QDPMI, OS/2 dos box, and hopefully Windows/NT. Note that these haven't been tested very much, so if you notice a problem please report it to djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu. GNU! All the latest gnu software have been ported, including the latest binutils and gzip (2x faster than 16-bit gzip.exe!). More utilities will be ported in the future, so joing the djgpp-announce mailing list to get the announcements. SPEED! The debugger has a new fast-load routine for symbol loading that is blazingly faster than 1.09. ROYALTY-FREE! As of this release, the extender binaries provided in djgpp may be redistributed as is without any royalties at all. See the new file docs/djgpp/copying.dj in djdocs110.zip for more details. If you have any questions about djgpp, please join the mailing list so that we can all share the information. Please note that the minimum set of files to download is different: djdev110.zip basic environment gcc241bn.zip gcc (C/C++/ObjC) gas211bn.zip assembler bnu22bn.zip linker etc. Also note a new format for GNU programs: pppVVVtt.ext ppp = program name (gcc, bsn=bison, etc) VVV = version (gcc241 = gcc-2.4.1) tt = type (bn=binaries, dc=documentation, sr=sources) ext: zip=(pkunzip -d -o) tgz=(gzip -d -c; djtarx) The 'sr' files are exact copies of the .tar.z files from prep.ai.mit.edu. The 'bn' files include diffs when needed. To unpack .zip's: pkunzip -d -o package.zip to unpack .tgz's: gzip -d -c package.tgz > package.tar djtarx package.tar If you make djgpp available at your FTP site, please post a notice to djgpp-announce AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu. Remember, you must upload the sources when you upload the binaries!
