I have tried two of your test cases (-Wall -O) and both .c files
produced same .o file size.

I am using go32 version 1.09 and gcc 2.3.3 on a AST 386Sx (25MHz) with
2M ram.

Your problem is strange.  Please keep me updated on the progress.
