When i run gcc on a Stacker drive, stacker complains 'Read error' and after pressing Ignore, it continues OK. This also happens with the program DISP125 which the author compiled with djgpp. Obviously there are no bad sectors on my IDE drive, as this is the only time i get these spurious 'read errors'. Also when i install these programs on a non-stacker drive all goes well. My suspicion is that there is an incompatibility between go32 and stacker while it is bootstrapping the 32-bit exe. Does anyone else have this problem or a fix for it so that i can run go32'ed programs on a Stacker drive? Just for reference, i have a AMD386-33, DOS5.0, QEMM-6.02 .
