A GNU boycott of Microsoft or any bottle throwing at them serves their fundamental aim of isolating and growing a captive audience. And in the end, if Microsoft were to accomodate to compatibility (e.g. DPMI 1.0 instead of .9) or offer something that was technically competent, it won't be because they are attacked, it wil be because they're forced to keep brushing shoulders with other developers who aren't in their pockets.
