Available in /mirrors/msdos/demacs on wuarchive.wustl.edu anonymous FTP site (or any other SIMTEL20 mirror). Nearly 100% GNU Emacs compatible, except for some problems with date handling, as long as you don't try to run subprocesses from it. MS-DOS doesn't support this very well in any case; DEmacs really doesn't do it at all. Surely not WinDoze compatible, since it is a GO32 application. Use DesqView instead. Then you don't need subprocesses; you run the compiler in the background in a separate window. (I don't have WinDoze 3.1, maybe the background/concurrent process support has improved since WinDoze 3.0, when it was just too painful.) -- Stephen Turnbull The Ohio State University, Department of Economics 410 Arps Hall, 1945 N.
