Subject: Re: GCC 2.3.3 and my sense of humor To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu (DJ's GPP mailing list) Date: Thu, 21 Jan 93 13:02:56 EST From: Stephen Turnbull Mea culpa. As a long-time fan of RMS, FSF, and all the folks (especially our very own DJ Delorie) who create and support software under the GPL, a lover of Emacs since the days the DEC-20 version responded to ESC-ESC-CTRL-G with "Oh, so you can't hack buffers, sucker!", etc, ad nauseum, I recognize and applaud the effort etc involved in supporting even one platform. I would not speak for Alan Eldridge on his actual level of paranoia, he'll do that for himself. But I did not mean to imply that he actually held such a paranoid belief that RMS wanted to make life difficult for DOSniks. (I think the attribution to "alane@..." and characterization of the remark itself as "paranoid" are correct, however.) I apologize for, and will try to contain in the future, my sick and obscure sense of humor. -- Stephen Turnbull The Ohio State University, Department of Economics 410 Arps Hall, 1945 N.
