I have tried various ways to try to make this happen, but they don't work. E.g. a Fortran compiler called WATFOR can be told to send the errors to a file xxxx.ERR (if it is compiling a program xxxx.FOR), which is handy, for once me not having to continually handwrite scrawl the error remarks from the screen onto paper before I can edit the program file.
