I just installed djgcc on a 486DX, and I am running into a problem--probably something silly I am overlooking. When I try to compile, for example samples/sort: gcc -O sort.cc -o sort I get the following errors: Bad command or file name Can't open c:/tmp/cc000073.s for readingfile not found Same results with most other samples using make, but samples/compress and samples/pagetest come out fine. Versions: djgas138, djdev108, djgcc222. Installation done by "pkunzip -d" from c:\djgpp, so everything is in its proper directory. Config.sys: FILES=30 BUFFERS=20 DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\util\plusdrv.sys device=c:\video\utility\eansi.sys shell = c:\command.com /p /e:2048 break=on STACKS=9,256 Autoexec.bat: rem C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE prompt $p$g PATH c:\util;c:\bin;c:\matlab\bin;c:\telix;d:\turboc;c:\pctex;c:\;C:\DOS;c:\djgpp\bin;c:\pd\texas10 SET QL2FAX=C:\QL2FAX set telix=c:\telix\ SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP C:\MOUSE\MOUSE /1 SET TEXFMTS=c:\pctex\texfmts SET TEXTFMS=c:\pctex\textfms set COMPILER_PATH=c:/djgpp/bin set C_INCLUDE_PATH=c:/djgpp/include set CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=c:/djgpp/cplusinc;c:/djgpp/include set OBJC_INCLUDE_PATH=c:/djgpp/include set OBJCPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=c:/djgpp/include set LIBRARY_PATH=c:/djgpp/lib set TMPDIR=c:/tmp set GO32TMP=c:/tmp rem set GO32=ansi driver c:/djgpp/drivers/SOMETHING.grd gw 1024 gh 768 set GO32=ansi set BISON_SIMPLE=c:/djgpp/lib/bison.simple set BISON_HAIRY=c:/djgpp/lib/bison.hairy set FLEX_SKELETON=c:/djgpp/lib/flex.skeleton set TEXPOOL=c:\tex\formats set TEXFORMATS=c:\tex\formats set TEXFONTS=c:\pctex\textfms set TEXINPUTS=.;c:\pctex\texinput;c:\pctex\latex So, why is gcc having trouble writing in c:\tmp? There is plenty of room--about 80 Mb left--and 8 Mb of RAM total. OS is plain MS-DOS 5.0. Thanks for any suggestions.
