To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu (DJGPP) Date: Fri, 24 Jul 92 0:31:28 PDT Hi, netters: I have received some advices about my cry for help. I am trying to provide more information. For the DJGPP version 1.07, it is a 486DX machine with MSDOS 5.0. I use the basic developing environment for DJGPP ver 1.07. For the DJGPP version 1.05, it is a 386DX with a weitek math-coprocessor but somehow the compiler doesn't know its existence, so I use the emulator emu387. Possibly this is the reason why it does not work (it worked on a simpler model before). Wait a minute. I used the function 'pow(double, double)' in the more complicated model. Is it possible that this function might cause some problem? I didn't notice DJGPP ver 1.07 gave me significantly different results on the same but simpler model. I have no access to a workstation. I do have access to the university mainframe, but I would like to save the limited computing funds for bigger projects. I will settle for the 486 for developing, debugging, and small projects. Thank you all. BTW, one netter suggested that I use 'lint' to see if I misused the casts. Please forgive my ignorance, but what's 'lint'? I have been quite careful in using casts, but I will go through my programs carefully again to look for any possible misuse of casts. Good night.
