I'm still rather new at this gcc-thing. Recently, info and makeinfo (part of
the texinfo package) appeared on one of the os2 binary groups. These were
compiled with "emx", a gcc os2 and dos+extender environment. (I should have
known about emx from tex386, the excellent TeX from Eberhard Mattes. emx also
comes from EM.)

emx has a termcap-like library. I don't know much about termcap, so I cannot
say how "like-termcap" it is (not close enough to permit direct compilation of
info, however. The posted info does seem to work well, although it does have a
small problem with a few nodes texinfo2.texi--could be just me).

So there seems to be two gcc compilers for 386 Dos machines. Perhaps someone
can comment/verify/expand/flame the following observations:

1. emx can make dos/os2 exe files (tex386 and the above programs are examples).
Can djgpp do the same?

2. texindex (part of the texinfo package) is easy to compile with either emx or
djgpp (I posted earlier about how I added globbing to djgpp-texindex). However,
I had to make more changes to the source files with djgpp than with emx (still,
it was easy with both). 

3. djgpp apparently has much more support for graphics (?).

4. Can someone contrast/compare djgpp and emx?
