pow(2, 3)=2.1087770

i got this with your code & no 387, implies problem with emulator. this is
indeed true from what i've read in this group. the actual problem seems to
lie in the code to compute log base 10, but i've not bothered to investiate
further

i doubt this is much help. i believe a patch if forthcoming
