Applied my version (with one small white-space correction). gcc silently ignores disabling unknown builtins (documented behavior), so there is no need to protect against old gcc versions. I have also verified that changes do not cause problems with gcc-3.4.6 (I have however not tried version between). I suspect that we may have some more similar problems in future but it will be not difficult to fix them. Andris
