I've uploaded to my web site a small source update archive that 
overwrite make_cmd.c and input.c. This update implements solution 
#2 for fixing Bash's confusion over mixed style EOLs. From my one 
test, it appears to work but of course more testing is needed.

I'll update the complete archive and update the binary in a few days.
