However, the changes for DJGPP support I sent two years(!) ago were put aside as a result of maintainers' change and the fact that the new maintainer started with an old version where my changes did not exist. Therefore, I don't intend to port any new versions of Tar, or otherwise work on it, until and unless my changes are first made part of the official distribution. Porting Tar once and then working with the previous maintainer on incorporating the changes into the official sources, and on merging them with MSVC patches, was painful enough. Doing this once again with very different sources from Tar 1.13.x is too much for me, sorry.
