GNU Recode is a libray for recoding files between a great amount of different character sets. GNU Recode also includes the `recode' program that is a handy front end to the library. Please *read* the info docs to become familiar with usage of this package. You can download the binaries, docs and sources from SimtelNET and mirrors as: ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/rcode35b.zip ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/rcode35d.zip ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/rcode35s.zip DJGPP specific changes: 1) Changes needed for NLS support with DJGPP. 2) Extensive changes in the docs. Added indexing for all command-line options and all supported charsets. 3) Changes in the test suite to make it work on DOS/Windows with DJGPP tools. Thanks to Eli Zaretskii for contributing the patch for docs and test suite changes. All changes I have done against the original GNU distribution are documented in the diffs file stored in the CONTRIB subdir of the source package. This package has been compiled with the DJGPP port of the GNU gettext library so you can expect that the program talk to you in your mother tongue, if supported. Send suggestions and bug-reports to comp.os.msdos.djgpp or djgpp AT delorie DOT com.
