I'm aware you need to release the ports woth Userport or Porttalk if you want I/O control over RS232C and Printer parallel ports. But it appears there's still transparency without any special add-ons. My library of asembly written object routines (1980-2009) to be called from HL languages for DOS services and Text User Interacing still work fine if you use the MS stack convention.
