I was trying to mirror the way this is handled in other mailing lists. There, someone posts a patch with a subject that looks something like a: [RFA] Fix sign problems in fhandler_disk_file::lock Then people comment on it. If you've just checked something in you use: [PATCH] Fix sign problems in fhandler_disk_file::lock which serves as a notification that something has been checked in. I don't think we want to send every patch we make to cygwin-patches, but the RFA ones are likely candidates. cgf
