Well, that is what the -1 does:) Then I looked into http://www.cygwin.com/setup.html yesterday and found it pretty confusing, but maybe I was just tired... Looking again, it states ,---- | Source packages are extracted in /usr/src. Include a 'root' directory | with the same name as the archive root (ie foo-vendor-suffix). NOTE: | The path in your tarball for a file that ends up as /var/foo.tmp is | "var/foo.tmp" `---- From the first sentence it seems you might be correct:) The second one is definitely misleading in that case... I have put up -3 files in the same directory, the only difference is that the src-package doesn't have the usr/src/ prefix.
