Do you mean something more than the configure --prefix option?  If not,
then yes.  If so, then please advise.

Note the following:

    1. PostgreSQL is all contained (very cleanly) under PREFIX/pgsql
    2. Python is normally spread across PREFIX/bin, PREFIX/include/python2.1,
       PREFIX/lib/python2.1, PREFIX/man/man1
    3. python-ldap is all contained under PREFIX/lib/python2.1

Something like the following:

    $ ls -l postgresql/postgresql-7.1RC1-2.tar.gz python/python-2.1a2-1.tar.gz python-ldap/python-ldap-1.10alpha3-2.tar.gz
